Dreamweaver: Notes
Dreamweaver is the beginning of a series I've entitled The Outsider's Arc. The main arc of stories (Dreamweaver, True Believers, and Epinikion so far) begin six weeks after an Operation: Zero Tolerance that ended more happily for the X-Men. Some things are the same. Cable and X-Force have parted ways, Marrow and Cecilia Reyes are new members of the team, and poor Gambit is wandering somewhere in Antartica freezing his tush off, but there are significant differences. Bastion did not strip the mansion bare, or plant a bomb in Cyclops' abdomen. Bishop returned from space, Archangel and Psylocke are still on leave from the team, and Maggott--well, he never came into the picture. (To be perfectly honest, I couldn't handle the accent. :)
Dreamweaver and its sequels are also linked to a story entitled A Laying On Of Hands by Cascade. Available here on Alternate Timelines, it tells the story of Dana Hawkes, a young mutant healer who becomes romantically involved with Sam Guthrie. Dreamweaver is set roughly four to five months after the events of A Laying On Of Hands. I would recommend reading that story first, not only to avoid confusion, but because it's what's colloquially known as a 'damned fine read'. :)
Disclaimer time: Cable and the X-folks belong to Marvel, and are used here without their permission, for entertainment purposes only. I'm not making a dime, so don't sue me, please? Dana Hawkes is the creation of Cascade, used with permission (thanks again, Cascade). Regina Bell and Andrew Taylor in Dreamweaver are mine; the several Askani, numerous members of Cable's network and other random original characters in True Believers are also mine. Feedback is adored; flames are cheerfully dismissed. Valete, all. :)
